YELLOW LINES It was reported that Brian Tanner had gathered 500 letters of objection to the Council’s proposals. Our strategy is to say “NO” to all of their proposals in an attempt to bring them to the negotiating table. Stephen Hammond, MP, has been most supportive of us. It was agreed that we would send a letter of thanks. It was also felt appropriate that a letter of thanks should be sent to Peter Linacre. There is a meeting of SMAC on the 4th March at 7.00p.m. when there will be a report and discussion regarding the consultation process. Tariq Ahmed has said that we should get as many people as possible to attend this meeting and that we should have a speaker. It was agreed that Clive would be the spokesperson. Brian Tanner is organising a meeting for the 28th February at Haygarth. Tariq Ahmed and Stephen Hammond should be at that meeting. |

WURA Vivien attended the meeting in December and tried to raise the issue of the consultation regarding yellow lines. Leonard Mostyn, Chairman of WURA, then used his role as Chair of the Trustees of the Almshouses to argue vigorously in favour of the bus and of the yellow lines. It was agreed that Vivien would produce a note from which a letter could be drafted to Leonard Mostyn pointing out that we are not happy with this conflict of interest. Attendance at future WURA meetings was agreed as follows: It was suggested that, if possible, two people should attend each meeting. |

Bob was keen for someone to write a letter of thanks to GV. On Thursday 17th January, Justine Greening will be addressing a meeting at St Mary’s Church, Putney High Street, on the Heathrow Airport expansion plan. We understand that Brian Tanner will be attending. |
